Last fall I had a chance to try out some Jambu hiking boots - loved them! I was out hiking in them again today. What I enjoy about them is that they are snug on my feet yet work well around my bunions. If you have bunions, you understand why this is an issue. Hiking boots need to be snug but snug footwear around bunions can be painful. My family and I went hiking today, my husband pointed to my feet and said, “Still love your boots?” Yup! Just enough give, yet still a firm fit.

I know, I know, everything these days is BAD. Chemicals are everywhere, difficult to avoid. We try to do our best for our families by using the least amount of chemicals, but sometimes, chemicals do the best job. Or do they?
Take laundry. Early last year I made the switch to 7th Generation laundry detergent. (Unscented, I never use scented cleaning products.) I have a great front loader washer and it doesn’t need more than a tablespoon or two to do the job well. Throw in a little Borax or vinegar, and you are good to go. However, laundry detergents from 7th Generation or Method are not 100% chemical free, you need to know that. They do contain chemicals like SLS, though in smaller amounts, I believe. What’s the alternative?

I’ve had quite a few companies reaching out to me lately to try and review a product on Live Green Mom. More often than not, I would rather just give the product away to a reader. Most companies are amenable to that, so… let’s give something away!
I love olive oil, use it for everything! I try and buy organic when I can, there is usually a good deal at Trader Joe’s on it or a decent coupon floating around. I like Carapelli organic olive oil, it has a smooth yet robust flavor that goes well with anything I pair it with.
