MightyNest $25 Gift Card Giveaway

(This giveaway is officially closed)

Hey, have you checked out MightyNest? They offer safe, non-toxic products for the whole family. The whole gamut for the family & the household.

I love their glass water bottles and stainless steel lunch containers. I’m a sucker for stainless steel.

Just check out their site and comment here about what you would buy if you won a $25 gift card. I will choose a winner with a random number organizer.

This giveaway is open only to residents of the USA.

Follow them on Twitter or like ‘em on Facebook, too!

(Just so you know, I was offered a choice of products to try out and review, but opted instead to turn it around into a $25 gift card for a reader. I have plenty of good reusable items and I would rather someone out there get a chance to try out something new & eco-friendly!)

This giveaway ends on Sunday, September 11 at 11:59 pm EST.

time Parents’ Choice award winning artist, she has a fourth album out now for spring that might actually inspire your children to eat their veggies!

My favorite! Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt

How about Equal Exchange Fairly Traded Chocolates?

If you hear words like “fair trade” and “equal exchange” and wonder what exactly that is, let me tell you. As defined by Etica Fair Trade.com, “Fair Trade is responsible commerce that takes into consideration the value of all people, from the producer to the consumer. The producer group agrees to provide good working conditions, safety procedures and adequate health standards for all workers.” That means that all the way from the workers in the fields picking those coffee & cacao beans to the producer bagging the beans, to everyone else involved in the production of that product until it gets to you. By choosing Equal Exchange fairly traded products, you help provide small-scale farmers the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future for their families and communities.

If you read this blog, you know how frustrated I get trying to get my kids to eat a better variety of healthy foods, especially vegetables. My kids really aren’t bad about junky food, they just have such a limited number of foods that they will allow to pass their lips, especially vegetables that are – gasp! – green. I thought you would enjoy a good giggle at this Xtranormal animated short I created to vent. If you haven’t seen the Mompetition videos on YouTube, then you are in for a treat, check those out as well.

Without further ado…

Let’s kick off the week with a guest post by Alisa Gilbert on being eco-friendly, not an eco-snob.  You know who you are. We know who you are.

—————————

It seems that we have a lot to learn when it comes to convincing the masses that going green is a worthy lifestyle change. After all, despite being barraged by numerous irrefutable facts on the benefits of switching to man-powered or public transportation, buying organic produce, using reusable shopping bags, and reducing waste in general, a great deal of the public still will not integrate green practices into their own lives. The blame here may not actually lie with materialism and laziness, but rather with the green movement itself or in particular, with the eco-snobbery associated with the green movement’s most outspoken advocates.
