Ghosts and ghouls, it’s October. Which means it’s time to get a costume together for your child (and yourself!). First things first, in looking to make an eco-friendly costume, give yourself time. Don’t leave the costume to the last minute. In fact, if you haven’t started creating a costume yet, you should probably do so.
Eco-friendly costumes have a good deal of sweat equity – be it in construction or searching for items, or even knitting, crocheting and sewing. They take work! But they’re all quite worth it, I can guarantee that.
It is no secret I am a huge probiotic fan.
If you are unfamiliar with probiotics, they are beneficial microorganisms found in certain foods, like yogurts. Probiotics not only give our immune system a boost, they also give our digestive tract some help developing healthy flora. Healthy flora promotes better digestion, as well as less gas and bloating. Bonus!
When school is in session classrooms are probably the one place other than the home where children spend most of their time.
That’s why when it comes to kid’s learning skills the setting needs to uphold certain standards in order for potential to be realized. Otherwise outside factors may become burdensome compromising their development and creativity.
To make the classroom a healthier, friendlier place here are a few suggestions to help schools promote better working environments:

Let’s see a show of hands. How many of you have kids that have a shitload of toys? Pieces & parts of toys? Toys from fast food places? From birthday party goodie bags? Halves of toys that have no match, rendering it useless?
My kids would pull stuff out of their toy boxes, cubbies and bins in search of a particular toy. They would then step on these pieces and parts in the dark of night on their way to the bathroom and howl – ever stepped on some of those Legos? Yowch!
A couple of years ago during a rainy stretch in June after school let out, I had had enough. I went on a tear and got the kids swept up in my let’s get rid of this nonsense fervor. They got to hold on to the toys they loved and played with the most, and we donated or properly disposed of the rest.
