I gave up my gas mower for a Fiskars Momentum push reel mower.

I hated my gas mower. It was loud (I wear ear protection) and kicked up a lot of dirt, dust and stones (I wear eye protection, too), not eco-friendly and a general pain in the ass.  Sometimes my gas mower would decide to not work halfway through a job.  I don’t know why, but you would need to wait a while before trying to start it up again.  Yeah, I have all the time in the world to sit around waiting for my mower to work.

Gas mowers are so bad for the environment, you can read some scary statistics from the EPA here.

Some of my friends said I would hate using a push reel mower, but I think they have not-so-fond-memories of their grandparents or even their parents’ push reel mowers.

The Fiskars Momentum Push Reel mower is not your grandpa’s mower.  My grandpa used to say that it’s all about having the right tool for the job, and this mower is indeed, the right tool for the job.  As I mow with it, I wonder what everybody’s  big deal is, it isn’t hard at all.  I think that the reason is because you can adjust the mower height from 1 to 4 inches depending on grass height or the terrain of your lawn.  Not everybody’s lawn is level.  Mine isn’t.
